Max Pigoli on pole position at Misano

Max Pigoli has taken pole position in Misano, the first Italian event of the Superstars Series in nearly two months.

The Romeo Ferraris driver will share the front row with BMW Team Italia’s Thomas Biagi, who managed to claim second notwithstanding 60kg of success ballast after two wins in Portimao.

The second row will be shared again between a Mercedes and a BMW. Luigi Ferrara took third ahead of Stefano Gabellini, who leads a train of four BMWs, which includes Christian Montanari, Alberto Cerqui and Ivan Tramontozzi.

Francesco Sini, Kristian Ghedina and Riccardo Romagnoli rounded up the top ten. Former championship leader and race winner Michela Cerruti only managed a thirteenth spot on the grid.

The first race will start tomorrow at 10:00 GMT
