Stureson and IPS Motorsport confirms TTA interest
Johan Stureson and IPS Motorsport has confirmed interest for a program in the TTA 2012.
“We are interested, it is a great concept and it is really fair. It is the best team and driver that wins. There is no room for excuses any more,” said Stureson to nsk.se.
Stureson claimed third overall in the STCC, this season equalling his and IPS Motorsport’s best ever result, but announced that they are leaving the series short after the final.
The team is currently working on securing budget and partners for TTA 2012, as well as keeping a dialogue with a so far not disclosed manufacturer.
“Our sponsors of today are interested. And to know if we are able to go through with this, we need the sponsors on board,” said Stureson.
While Stureson and IPS Motorsport has taken part in the STCC since 2004, the new TTA concept with technically identical cars is appealing, according to the team.
“I have not driven that many classes with technically identical cars. I think it is 20 years ago when I drove BMW Formula Junior. So the idea with TTA is appealing,” said Stureson.
