Thed Björk confirms switch to TTA for 2012

2006 STCC champion Thed Björk joins the line of drivers switching to the new TTA championship for 2012. The reigning Camaro Cup champion confirmed the switch to Swedish motor magazine Teknikens Värld but does not want to reveal to which team yet.

“I cannot confirm to which team yet, but I can confirm that I am going to take part in the TTA 2012,” said Björk.

Björk took part in the Swedish Camaro Cup championship this season, clinching the title 23 points ahead of Fredrik Ros. The Swede also joined Volkswagen for the STCC finale in a fourth Scirocco, playing a big part in the controversial season end where champion Rickard Rydell overtook Björk under alleged yellow flags.

While Björk has not confirmed team for TTA 2012, sources to Teknikens Värld state that he is going to join Volvo, a move that would make him team mate to Fredrik Ekblom.

Björk clinched the STCC title in 2006 for Audi and most recently finished runner-up in 2009 for Flash Engineering before switching to Camaro Cup for 2011.
