Gothenburg City Arena gets new hairpin and grandstands
Gothenburg City Arena is currently undergoing a reconstruction with new grandstands and a new hairpin.
“We are taking City Arena to the next level with better capacity for spectators and better possibilities for even more exciting racing,” said Thomas Lindskog, Managing Director for City Arena.
The first corners are being reconstructed with the main focus on creating a wide hairpin.
“Both the entry and exit of the corner is going to be much wider, something enabling the drivers to take different lines in and out of the corner, improving the overtaking possibilities. We have had close contact with drivers and team regarding this and we are happy with the result,” said Lindskog.
The new grandstands have capacity for 10 600 spectators and the upgraded track will officially be launched on the 26th of May, three weeks before the first of the two TTA races at City Arena this season.
