Tom Onslow-Cole to race this weekend at Donington Park
British Touring Car driver Tom Onslow-Cole has been announced as a late entry to the International Superstars Series race at Donington Park this weekend in a Jaguar XF-R, run by Ferlito Motors.
The seven-time BTCC race winner, who just turned 25 yesterday, will be making his Superstars Series debut and is the second British driver confirmed for the event after former Formula 1 driver Johnny Herbert, who will be driving for Swiss Team in their Maserati Quattroporte.
“I couldn’t celebrate my 25th birthday any better,” said Tom Onslow-Cole, who takes part in the BTCC for West Surrey Racing. “Driving a powerful car like this will be fun and exciting. The races of the Superstars are spectacular.”
West Surrey Racing Team Principal Dick Bennetts added:
“Tom and I are very happy to join the world Superstars, a series that we’ve already been enjoying for some time. Tom is a pilot with great skill and I’m sure will do well here at Donington Park.”
Donington Park will be hosting a round of the Superstars Series for the second time this weekend, with the Leicestershire circuit holding the races in June last year, both of which were won by Andrea Bertolini in the Maserati Quattroporte.
