Michele Faccin tests Lexus ISF at Franciacorta

Michele Faccin tested MRT by Nocentini’s Lexus ISF at Franciacorta. The car had already been raced by Simone Monforte at Monza, but since then the Japanese car has remained in the garage and has been upgraded to solve some of the problems encountered during that outing.

Michele Faccin has a strong past in single seaters, such as Formula Azzurra and Formula Renault 2.0, and has also taken part in the Italian Formula 3 championship. The driver from Padova also had a taste of tin-tops by taking part in the Mégane Trophy Eurocup and in the Gt Sprint Series.

Team boss Mauro Nocentini commented:”At the moment I can say I’m satisfied with our progresses. Although we had some small mounting issues, the car has responded well to the upgrades done during these months of hard work. The Lexus was always quick but we had many electrical issues last year, which have now been solved thanks to the efforts of the team.

This test proved that we’re heading into the right direction, and next week we will be at Vallelunga to try to find the limit. I believe a lot in the Superstars Series project and these last few races will be a preparation for next year, when I would like to field to ISFs.”

Michele Faccin is happy with the chance of driving the Lexus and wants to do more:

“I’m really happy to join the Superstars Series. I would like to thank Mauro Nocentini for giving me this opportunity and now it’s up to me to try and do my best and perform well. This shakedown test was enough to understand that this car is really quick, the torque of the Lexus is just incredible. The Superstars Series will be another step forward in my professional career as a racing driver.”

The next Superstars Series race will be on September, 16th at Pergusa, Sicily. Last time out the Lexus, then driven by Simone Monforte, struggled for pace and was almost twelve seconds off from pole position in qualifying and failed to complete a lap in the two races lamenting electrical problems.
