Sentul round of Superstars Series cancelled

The last Superstars Series round at Sentul has been canceled and will not be replaced. The traditional extra-European last round for the series will not take place, therefore making the Superstars Series’ comeback to Pergusa the title decider next week.

The decision has come due to the lack of the required FIA homologation of the track and the round will not be replaced. According to sources close to the Superstars organizers FG Group, the technical timing of a replacement in the calendar would have taken too long and the decision has come too late to move the event to another venue:

“We greatly appreciate the work done by the Sentul Circuit”, said FG Group in a statement. “We are sorry for the loss of a race that the Sentul Circuit Organizer has already widely promoted on a national level. Nevertheless, [we] cannot be put at risk the large investment of the Promoter, the Teams, the Service Providers and the Drivers that must be undertaken in order to participate in the event.

Despite all our efforts and in respect of all the competitors of the Series, we are forced to take this decision.”

The Pergusa event will therefore decide both the Italian and the International Superstars Series, both of which are led by Johan Kristoffersson in his Audi RS5.
