D’Aste, Nannini and Di Sabatino to first test of 2013

The 2013 Superstars Series is kicking off tomorrow with the first test day of the year in Adria, Italy, where the prize ceremony for the 2012 season also will take place.

There will be well-known faces at Adria, as Stefano d’Aste and former F1 driver Alessandro Nannini will both be behind the wheel.

Some important new faces will be there as well, with Matteo Davenia joining Giovanni Berton at the wheel of a BMW M3 prepared by Team Dinamic, the latter a protagonist of the last part of the 2012 season racing in the same machinery.

Single seater star Christian Mancinelli will be partnered by Christian Pigionanti and Aldo Taddeo at the wheel of an RGA Motorsport BMW. PRS NOS racing will also be on track with two Audi RS4, with Alessandro Kouzkin and Nello Nataloni.

A last-minute addition to the field in Adria will be a well-known face for touring car fans, as Pasquale di Sabatino will drive a Chevrolet Lumina CR8 from Solaris Motorsport. The Italian said he expects a very high standard both on and off the track from the championship, as the tough technical challenge is usually coupled with a strong response from the public, both on track and on television.

“This test shows a true interest towards the Superstars Series,” said the Italian. “It’s one of my top options for the coming season. I had the chance to follow the races on tv and my friendship with Francesco Sini gave me the chance to be up-to-date with all the news. It’s one of the best series in the international panorama and the driver roster is stellar.”

The Porsche Panameras will still rest in the garages as they are being prepared and updated by Petri Corse, with their driver announcement being expected in the next few days.
