Zurcher tests CAAL Racing Mercedes in Magione

CAAL Racing hit the track at Magione with Camilo Zurcher behind the wheel of one of their Mercedes C63 AMG. The temperature was very low and the track was slippery, but the Colombian driver, who took part in selected races last season with a Mercedes prepared by Romeo Ferraris, was able to complete 30 laps.

Notwithstanding the tricky conditions, Zurcher was able to set some flying laps and the developement schedule went as planned. The Colombian, who took part in the traditional Magione 100-mile race last year with a CAAL Racing prepared BMW, was happy with the outcome of the test.

“The cold weather didn’t allow us to push but I’m pretty satisfied with the test. My goal is to do the full season starting from the series’ kick-off at Monza and it could be with CAAL Racing. I reckon the Superstars Series is a perfect international showcase for me and my sponsors, so I want to take part in it.”

Zurcher took part in four events of the Superstars Series last year, coming fourteenth in the championship, his best result being a sixth in the tricky Race 1 at Spa-Francorchamps. The Colombian had actually won the second heat in Hungary, but was later penalized by the stewards which relegated him to sixth.
