Luigi Ferrara not starting second race due to engine damage

Race one pole position man Luigi Ferrara will not be able to start the second race at Imola. The announcement came after different earlier indications by the team, which suspected the overheating problems in the first race had not caused that severe damage.

The Mercedes power unit was damaged due to mud covering the radiator of the C63 AMG Coupé during the race, which sent the temperatures sky high and causing permanent damage.

Ferrara came third in the race despite the mechanical struggles, but will not be able to start the second race of the day.
